Where Teachable is ahead

Teachable's entry tier allows unlimited students at a lower monthly price than uInstructor's — if you expect to outgrow 100 active students quickly and want to start on the cheapest tier, that's a real advantage. Teachable also reaches a 0% transaction fee one tier sooner, and ships native iOS and Android apps on every plan — uInstructor is web-only today, and its transaction fee only reaches 0% on the top Scale plan. Teachable also offers a built-in community/discussion space from its Builder plan up; uInstructor doesn't have one yet.

Where the two are built differently

Teachable's admin-user limits (1 seat on Starter and Builder, 5 on Growth) reflect who it's built for: mostly a single creator selling their own courses. uInstructor prices by active students and includes multiple teacher seats from its entry tier, because it's built for a centre — several teachers, students organised into groups/cohorts, shared level testing — rather than one person's solo course.

On payments: Teachable processes student payments through its own Teachable:pay system (Stripe under the hood, routed through Teachable's own merchant account). uInstructor has you connect your own Stripe account instead — student payments go straight to you, uInstructor is never in that path.

On AI: Teachable's “Create with AI” helps a creator draft course content. uInstructor's AI tutor is a different kind of tool — it answers students' questions, grounded specifically in that centre's own course material. Not a direct substitute for each other.
