What is a white-label course platform?

A plain explanation, not a pitch for any one product — including ours.

The short version

A white-label course platform is software that hosts your courses, payments, and students — but shows up to those students as your own branded product. Your name, your logo, your domain, your colours. The learner never sees the underlying platform's name anywhere.

That's different from a plain course-hosting tool, where the platform's own brand is visible throughout (in the URL, the footer, sometimes even in emails your students receive), or from a marketplace (Udemy-style), where you're one listing among thousands and the marketplace, not you, owns the customer relationship.

Why a business picks white-label over building it themselves

The alternative to a white-label platform is either (a) a generic, visibly-branded course tool, or (b) building your own from scratch — video hosting, payments, level testing, quizzes, gamification, and everything else that goes into a real course product. Most education businesses aren't software companies; a white-label platform gets you the software without becoming one.

What to actually check before picking one

  • Where does the money go? Some platforms route student payments through their own account and pay you out on a schedule; others let you connect your own payment processor so funds land with you directly. Very different cash-flow and risk profile.
  • How "white" is white-label, really? Custom domain, or just a subdomain? Your own colours and logo, or a fixed theme? Does the platform's name appear anywhere a student can see — emails, receipts, a "powered by" footer?
  • What happens as you grow? Per-student pricing can get expensive fast; per-centre (flat) pricing scales differently. Check the actual numbers at the student count you expect in a year, not just today.
  • What's actually built vs. on a roadmap? A feature list and a working feature are different things — ask specifically what ships today versus what's planned.
