How AI credits work
Why AI usage is priced separately from your plan, what a credit actually costs, and what each pack buys — not a vague “fair use” policy, real numbers.
Why AI is a separate line, not bundled in
Your plan price (Start, Pro, Scale) pays for the platform: courses, level tests, live sessions, gamification, payments, your own brand and domain. It doesn't change based on how much you use the AI tutor, AI Studio, or the public chatbot — those all run on real, metered provider cost (Claude, ElevenLabs, Gemini), and bundling an unpredictable cost into a flat plan price means either overcharging centres that barely use AI, or quietly capping it so tight it's not actually useful. Instead, AI usage draws from a separate credit balance, topped up with a pack you buy when you need it.

The packs
Bought once, spent whenever — unlike the old idea of a monthly allowance, a pack doesn't expire or reset. Which sizes you can buy depends on your plan, since a Start centre's 100-learner ceiling genuinely can't use as much AI as a Scale centre's 5,000.
Start can buy Small, Pro can buy Small or Medium, Scale can buy any of the three. At real usage, even the Small pack covers thousands of tutor replies or hundreds of AI Studio generations a month — see the pack picker on the pricing page for the exact breakdown per plan.
The free taste
Every centre also gets 1,000 AI Studio credits a month at no cost, no card required — enough to try generating quizzes, exercises and course drafts before deciding whether to buy a pack. It resets every month rather than rolling over, so it stays genuinely free to offer rather than something to ration.
Buying a pack
Once you're signed in, buy or top up a pack any time from your centre's own Settings → Billing page — no need to change plans or talk to anyone. Already at enterprise scale? The pricing page's usage slider flags that and links straight to get in touch about a custom package instead.
